Scottish Addictions Specialist Committee (SASC, or Golden Lion)

This group has been operating for many years and acts as an informal support and information sharing group. A half day of more formal educational presentations is offered twice a year. The group meets quarterly and consists mainly of addiction psychiatrists. However it is open to all doctors who have regular clinical duties treating drug misusers and includes specialist GPs, prison doctors, DTTO doctors and an obstetrician. We also liaise closely with colleagues who treat alcohol problems.
